WASHINGTON, D.C. GROUPS PROP UP CHRIS MCDANIEL BY thadforms

While Mississippians are showing their support for Thad Cochran, out-of-state groups that don’t care about Mississippi continue to  into our state to prop up their candidate, Chris McDaniel.

These groups are  and receive their financial backing from places like California and New York, not Mississippi.

Chris McDaniel clearly is more interested in doing the bidding of these groups than doing what is best for Mississippi, which is why he said “” about supporting Katrina relief legislation, saying it would have been a “difficult vote to cast.”

It’s why Chris McDaniel  that that’s vitally important to jobs and our economy in Mississippi. It’s why Chris McDaniel also  legislation that helps protect Mississippi homeowners and small businesses from being hit with massive insurance premium increases. And it’s why Chris McDaniel promises Mississippi voters, “.

These are all more reasons why the choice in this election is clear. Thad Cochran is a strong, conservative voice for Mississippi. He’s never embarrassed us, and he always puts Mississippi first. Chris McDaniel has proven he will say or do anything to cater to his out-of-state campaign backers.

LETTER: “IF YOU WANT TO MAKE MISSISSIPPI INCREASINGLY IRRELEVANT IN THE GRAND SCHEME OF THINGS, VOTE FOR CHRIS MCDANIEL” BY thadforms

Concerning recent Clarion-Ledger articles about the U.S. Senate race, the pragmatic choice simply boils down to this: if you want to keep the only powerful influence Mississippi has on national issues, vote for Thad Cochran. He has brought immeasurable benefits to our State through years of developing Congressional muscle. If you want to make Mississippi increasingly irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, vote for Chris McDaniel.

UNCLE SAM OUT: SENATORS DEMAND FEDS KEEP DOLLARS AWAY FROM STANDARDS BY thadforms

Ten Republican senators don’t want to see another dime of federal money going to states in exchange for adopting certain academic standards. That includes the Common Core State Standards, now embraced by 45 states and the District of Columbia. The senators also don’t want any more federal funding going to develop assessments that go along with the common core, or any other set of standards.

And they’ve said so, in a  sent April 4 to U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, the chairman of the panel that oversees K-12 spending, and Sen. Jerry Moran, R-Kan., the top Republican on the subcommittee. The letter suggests adding language to the bill financing the U.S. Department of Education that essentially would bar the education secretary from using any federal funds to bolster a particular set of standards or tests.

The letter was signed by Sens. Pat Roberts of Kansas, Chuck Grassley of Iowa, Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma, Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, Mike Lee of Utah, Rand Paul of Kentucky, Ted Cruz of Texas, Thad Cochran of Mississippi, Mike Enzi of Wyoming, and John Barrasso of Wyoming.

Sound familiar? Grassley wrote a  last year. And there has been a  of Republican bills in Congress that take aim at common core.

Some background: U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan gave states that jumped on board the common-core train a leg up in the first round of the Race to the Top grant competition, and directed $360 million in Race to the Top money to two consortia to develop tests aligned with those standards. Those moves attracted a little grumbling from GOP lawmakers at the time, but have become way more controversial as states actually begin to implement the common core.

CHRIS MCDANIEL: I AM NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING FOR YOU BY thadforms

The choice is CLEAR: Thad Cochran is for Mississippi. Chris McDaniel is for himself and his out-of-state backers.

Thad Cochran has dedicated his life to building Mississippi and serving the people of our state. Thad has represented Mississippi well, and he’s never embarrassed us. The more we find out about Chris McDaniel, the clearer the choice becomes for voters in the June 3 election.

Chris McDaniel promised Mississippi voters, “” It sounds crazy, but, then again, Chris McDaniel is a trial lawyer whose campaign is funded by out-of-state groups that don’t care about Mississippi.
So far, we know Chris McDaniel:

  • Promises Mississippi voters: “.”
  • Told a reporter, “I don’t know” if he would have supported Katrina relief legislation, saying it would “not be an easy vote to cast.”
  • Insults Mississippi by saying our state is a “.”
  • on the Farm Bill and Flood Insurance reform legislation that greatly benefit Mississippians.
  • Claims he will balance the federal budget, but has no idea what is actually in the budget…he told a New York Times reporter ““

All of this begs the question: If Chris McDaniel is so unwilling to do anything for Mississippi, why should Mississippians vote for Chris McDaniel?

Now is NOT the time for on-the-job training and certainly not the time to allow someone as erratic and unproven as Chris McDaniel to represent Mississippi in the United States Senate.

Thad Cochran is a proven conservative voice for Mississippi who always puts Mississippi first and has never embarrassed us. We need Thad’s experience, integrity, and ability now more than ever to stand for Mississippi and fight the Obama Administration.

MCDANIEL TO KENTUCKY THIS WEEKEND? BY thadforms

This Saturday, Kentucky will focus on the Final Four in Texas, Thad Cochran’s campaign will focus on Mississippi…and Chris McDaniel will focus on…Kentucky?

Sounds a little strange, but it’s true. This Saturday, April 5, while the Thad Cochran campaign for U.S. Senate continues focusing on its grassroots effort to reach voters in Mississippi, the Chris McDaniel campaign will be focusing on its .

“When you consider the fact that Chris McDaniel’s campaign is funded almost entirely by out-of-state groups, this whole trip to Kentucky makes a lot of sense for him,” said Jordan Russell, spokesman for the Thad Cochran campaign. ”When you remember that Chris McDaniel promised Mississippians, ‘I’m not going to do anything for you,’ in the U.S. Senate, it all adds up. It’s simple, really: Chris McDaniel is all about the Washington, D.C. groups bankrolling his campaign, not about Mississippi.”
